Fact: Achieving a state of hypnosis is always consensual and collaborative. It’s something that you do with the hypnotherapist, who acts as your coach or guide.

As you enter a state of hypnosis you will likely feel relaxed as your hypnotherapist offers you suggestions to relax more deeply. No one can control your mind – and that is not the aim.

Your hypnotherapist will only give you suggestions to help you, based on your goals identified during your pre-hypnotic interview. At no point during your session will you lose control of your mind.

If you hear a suggestion that you don’t agree with – or don’t understand – your subconscious mind will automatically reject it, and you may choose to emerge from hypnosis.
